Anglicans / Episcopalians
What's the Difference?
By baptism we entered upon the Christian family worldwide. Within this universal family there are diverse expressions of the faith which has been entrusted to us. Anglicanism is one expression of the catholic heritage first manifested in England but now evident in many parts of the world. At Christ Church we are members of this worldwide Anglican Communion and are "Episcopal" in that it reflects the unity of believers with their Bishop who provides episcopal oversight. We are a parish of the Anglican Church in North America, ACNA. Archbishop Foley Beach was recently invested as the new primate of our Province recognized by the GAFCON and GLOBAL SOUTH primates.
So, what exactly does that make us?
It makes us "members of the Anglican Communion in America."
What do we believe?
We believe the Creeds (the Nicene and Apostle's Creed, to be exact), the Bible, and the teachings of the Church.
