Ladies Groups

anglican church women

The Anglican Church Women (“ACW”) meets the second Wednesday of the month at 12 noon except in the months of July and August. Meetings consist of lunch and invited speakers who present topics of special or timely interest. A short business meeting follows where preparations for the two major events of the year, the Annual Tea during the Spring and the Pork Chop Dinner in the Fall when we feature a young musician as our entertainment, are discussed.  The ACW is a vital and active organization in the parish.

Daughters of the Holy Cross

The Daughters of the Holy Cross are women who have committed their lives to the work and service of our Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, study, evangelism and service. As Daughters they pray daily for the parish, the staff, the Order and those in need.  We share with each other how the Lord is moving in our prayer lives and encourage each other by praying for and with each other on a regular basis. The Daughters of the Holy Cross have been greatly encouraged by the way the Lord has been giving them opportunities to witness to others in the community.   Service is an important part of their lives as Daughters. They cater the Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner as well as coordinated the Wednesday meals during Lent.  They support Christian Care as well as Pregnancy Resources in Moline.  The members bring Christmas cheer to Aperion Care nursing home in East Moline when they go caroling. All ladies in the parish are welcome to their meetings.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild consists of seven teams of 3 to 4 members. Each team is on duty approximately every six weeks while one team clears and sets up between the two masses each Sunday. The ladies exercise reverent care of the sanctuary, font, sacred vessels and vestments, preparing them for use in the service and sacraments of the church. The members are also instrumental in preparing for baptisms, weddings and funerals when needed.
