Karen Ministry

The richness of cross-cultural ministry is very evident at Christ Church.  Many of our members came to us from the refugee camps in Thailand.  Their home nation is Myanmar and are of the Karen language group.  They have added a new and beautiful dimension to our worship, our meals and fellowship.  Sermons are translated into Karen and the youth enhance our worship with vibrant and joyful song in English and their mother tongue. On Sunday afternoons the Karen families meet in their homes for worship, Bible study, birthday celebrations and house blessings.  Our ministry to this part of our parish family includes finding good jobs, assisting with the purchase of homes, cars and insurance.  Sewing classes, a new venture, will begin soon.  We are blessed to have them as our parishioners.
